Enchanting China with Japan is an exciting 14-day tour package that combines the best of both countries. The journey begins in Beijing, where you’ll explore famous landmarks like the Forbidden City and Great Wall of China. You will then travel to Xi’an to see the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors before exiting to Shanghai to experience the beautiful waterfront and bustling city life. After enjoying China’s main attractions, you’ll fly to Japan to start your adventure in Tokyo, where you’ll visit the Meiji Shrine and experience a traditional tea ceremony. From there, you’ll travel to Hakone National Park to relax in natural hot springs and enjoy the scenic views of Mount Fuji. The tour will conclude in Kyoto, where you’ll visit ancient temples, gardens, and historic sites as well as understanding the rich history of Japanese culture. This tour provides the perfect opportunity to experience the diversity and charm of both China and Japan.
Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
Upon arrival at Beijing International Airport, you will be met by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to rest or explore the city on your own.
Day 2: Beijing – Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven
After breakfast, you’ll visit Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square. From there, you will explore the magnificent Forbidden City, home to China’s emperors for over 500 years. You will have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the Temple of Heaven, where emperors performed ritual sacrifices for good harvests during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Day 3: Great Wall of China and Ming Tombs
Today’s excursion will take you to the Great Wall of China, one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. You will hike along the wall, marveling at its incredible construction and scenic views. After lunch, you will visit the Ming Tombs, the final resting place of 13 Ming emperors.
Day 4: Beijing to Xi’an
In the morning, you will fly to Xi’an, the ancient capital of China. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. In the evening, you will explore the Muslim Quarter and try some of the famous street food.
Day 5: Xi’an to Shanghai
You’ll start the day by visiting the City Wall, which dates back over 600 years, and then the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. In the afternoon, you’ll fly to Shanghai, known as the “Paris of the East”. You’ll have the evening free to explore on your own.
Day 6: Yu Garden, The Bund, French Concession
In the morning, you will visit Yu Garden, a classical garden built in the Ming Dynasty. You’ll then take a stroll along the Bund waterfront, where you’ll see some of Shanghai’s most iconic buildings. After lunch, you’ll explore the trendy French Concession area.
Day 7: Shanghai to Tokyo
After breakfast, you’ll fly to Tokyo, Japan’s bustling capital city. You’ll start the day by visiting Meiji Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Harajuku district, known for its street fashion and youth culture.
Day 8: Asakusa, Tea Ceremony Experience
You’ll start the day by visiting Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most popular districts, and the Sensoji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest temple. You’ll then have lunch at a local restaurant before experiencing a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
Day 9: Tokyo to Hakone
In the morning, you’ll take a scenic train ride to Hakone National Park, known for its stunning natural beauty and hot springs. You’ll have an opportunity to bathe in the hot springs and enjoy the mountain views. For dinner, you’ll be staying at a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn), included in the package.
Day 10: Bullet Train to Kyoto
After breakfast, you’ll take a bullet train to Kyoto, the cultural heart of Japan. You’ll visit Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion, and Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. At night there is an optional performance of geisha.
Day 11: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Kiyomizu Temple.
In the morning, you’ll visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine, known for its thousands of red torii gates. Then, you’ll explore the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, a serene natural wonder. After lunch, you’ll visit Kiyomizu Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Day 12: Day Trip to Nara
Today is a day trip to Nara, where you’ll visit Todaiji Temple, the world’s largest wooden building and home to Japan’s largest bronze Buddha statue. You’ll also visit Deer Park, where over a thousand deer roam freely. The day will end with a visit to Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Horyuji Temple before returning to Kyoto.
Day 13: Gion District, Shopping, Farewell Dinner
In the morning, you’ll explore the famous Gion district, known for its tea houses and geisha. The rest of the day will be free for shopping and souvenir hunting. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 14: Departure from Osaka
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Osaka International Airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
