The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a pilgrimage tour package that takes devotees on an arduous journey to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. The tour typically starts in Kathmandu, Nepal and involves several days of trekking through rugged terrain and high-altitude passes. Along the way, travelers visit sacred sites such as the Pashupatinath Temple and the Janakpur Dham in Nepal, and the Khojarnath and Manasarovar Lakes in Tibet. The tour is considered a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual experience that provides an opportunity to seek blessings from Lord Shiva and attain inner peace.

IDay 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be welcomed by the tour representative and transferred to the hotel. In the evening, there will be a briefing about the tour and an introduction to the fellow travelers.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. The tour includes visits to some of the most important religious sites in the city, such as the Pashupatinath Temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath Stupa (also known as the Monkey Temple).

Day 3: Travel to Syabrubesi via Rasuwagadhi border

After breakfast, you’ll drive to the Rasuwagadhi border (Nepal-China border) via private coach or jeep. After completing immigration formalities, you’ll cross the border into Tibet and then drive to Syabrubesi, a small town located on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River.

Day 4: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kerung

After breakfast, you’ll start the drive to Kerung, which is at an altitude of around 10,000 feet. Along the way, you’ll pass through beautiful Tibetan landscapes, including mountain ranges, rivers, and valleys. At Kerung, you’ll spend the night to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day 5: Drive from Kerung to Saga

After breakfast, you’ll continue your drive to Saga, where you’ll cross the Brahmaputra River and also encounter a few mountain passes. En route, you’ll get to see stunning views of the Himalayan range, including some of the tallest peaks like Mt. Shishapangma and Mt. Cho Oyu.

Day 6: Rest day in Saga

This day is kept as a rest day to help you acclimatize to the high altitude. You can spend the day exploring the local markets or just relaxing at the hotel.

Day 7: Drive to Lake Mansarovar

Today, you’ll drive to Lake Mansarovar, one of the most sacred sites for Hindus and Buddhists alike. On the way, you’ll enjoy scenic views of the Tibetan countryside, including its barren yet beautiful landscape. Upon reaching the lake, you’ll take a holy dip in its crystal-clear waters and offer prayers to Lord Shiva.

Day 8: Trek or drive from Lake Mansarovar to Darchen

After breakfast, you’ll start your journey towards Darchen, which is located at the base of Mount Kailash. You can choose to either trek or drive to Darchen, depending on your fitness level and preference. At Darchen, you’ll prepare for the Kailash Parikrama trek.

Day 9: Start the Kailash Parikrama trek

Today is the first day of the Kailash Parikrama trek. You’ll start from Darchen and trek around 12 miles to reach Diraphuk, where you’ll stay overnight. The trek involves crossing the Lha Chu Valley and getting stunning views of the north face of Mount Kailash.

Day 10: Continue the trek to Zuthulphuk via Dolma La Pass

Today is the most challenging day of the trek as you’ll be crossing the highest point of the trek, the Dolma La Pass (at an altitude of around 18,000 feet). After crossing the pass, you’ll start descending towards Zuthulphuk, where you’ll stay overnight.

Day 11: Complete the Kailash Parikrama trek and return to Saga

Today, you’ll complete the remaining stretch of the Kailash Parikrama trek and then drive back to Saga. Along the way, you’ll pass through some scenic Tibetan landscapes and get another chance to take in the beauty of the region.

Day 12: Rest day in Saga

This day is kept as a rest day to help you acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day 13: Drive back to Kerung

After breakfast, you’ll start your journey back to Kerung. Along the way, you’ll once again be able to enjoy the stunning landscape and beautiful views of the Himalayas.

Day 14: Cross the border and return to Kathmandu

Today, you’ll cross the border back into Nepal and then drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day free for leisure activities.

Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu

Your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra tour package comes to an end today. Depending on your flight timings, you may have some time to explore Kathmandu before being transferred to

  • Airport pick up and drop service.
  • Double sharing full board basis with 4 star hotel in Kathmandu, as per itinerary.
  • A visit of Pashupatinath Temple.
  • Scheduled flight Kathmandu – Nepalgunj – Kathmandu.
  • Scheduled flight Nepalgunj – Simikot – Nepalgunj.
  • Charter Helicopter / Flight share by 5-6 person Simikot – Hilsa – Simikot.
  • Double sharing hotel in Nepalgunj and 3 or 4 pax in Simikot and Tibet all places with meals.
  • Transport by Tourist Bus upto Mansarovar and Eco Buses from Mansarovar to Darchennd Yamdwaras per group sizes / truck for Luggage.
  • Nepali Team Leader and Supporting Sherpa Team and Medical Insurance of staffs.
  • English speaking Tibetan guide, Chinese visa fee of Client and staff.
